Cherith has recorded an eclectic CD that features 10 tracks, all written and arranged by herself. The album entitled, Between the light and half light.. was inspired by the famous poem by W. B Yeats, He wishes for the cloths of Heaven and features 5 ballads and 5 instrumental pieces.
Cherith´s debut CD, 'Between the light and half light' was launched
at the Ballycastle Writer´s Festival opening concert on Fri 31st
on Rathlin Island. It is fitting that Rathlin Island played host to
this CD launch, as it was at last year´s festival that Cherith met
Christie Hennessey who encouraged her to complete the CD.
"Christie was inspirational in giving me the self belief to follow my
dream and make it a reality...I was delighted to be asked by Heather
Newcombe, festival organiser and writer, to perform at this years
festival, as Rathlin provides a unique backdrop for aspiring writers
Cherith describes her writing style as uncluttered, lyrical with celtic influences.
"When I write I often have a picture of a place, a memory or a person in my head, which helps direct the flow of the music. Many of the pieces have been written about specific places I've been throughout my life , people that have influenced me and events that have stayed with me even from childhood Click here to see some photos from the recording sessions."
